MORE RULES MYTHS--

All of the following are false. Scroll down for explanations.

1. Any player or coach may call "time."
2. An inning is always over after the third out.
3. You cannot bunt with a two-strike count.
4. Adult coaches can warm up pitchers during the game.
5. Interference must be intentional.
6. The offense can commit obstruction.
7. The ball is dead after a batter reaches first on a walk.
8. The catcher must "throw it down" to second base before each half inning.
9. Runners cannot take a lead before a pitch is thrown.
10. A coach cannot ask umpires to overlook a violation and "take the play."
EXPLANATIONS

1. Only an umpire can call time out. Others must request it.
2. An appeal play can occur after the third out.
3. You can even bunt foul with two strikes. But you're out.
4. Never.
5. If a runner is struck by a batted ball, for instance, no intent is necessary.
6. Obstruction is a violation by a defensive player.
7. Just the opposite is true.
8. It's a tradition ... but not a rule.
9. If the pitcher (baseball) is not on the rubber, lead away.
10. This can happen when a catcher interferes with a batter's swing. If a sac fly ensues, coach may want to keep the play.
